About Dandelion Movement

"The difference between a flower and a weed is perspective"

-Wayne Dyer

Hi!! I'm Alie Peters, the founder of Dandelion Movement. I believe that exercise looks different for every "body" and creating a connection between the mind and the body is more impactful for longevity and progress than lifting the heaviest weight you can (there is always a time and place for that too! ) I lead in-person and online classes making movement and breathwork accessible from where ever you may be. Dandelion Movement represents the seeds of ideas and growth that flourish all around us. Make the journey to your goals just as exhilarating as the goal itself, while creating a safe place to explore how your mind connects with your body through daily movement and breathwork practices

My passion for movement & breathwork was ignited when I found a gateway to connect with myself, to notice how my body felt, to be able to regulate my nervous system and to feel in control of my anxiety and sleepless nights. My body was always trying to tell me what it needed but I didn't understand what it was trying to say to me. I lived in my head and often still do, yet this gave me and continues to give me an outlet to build upon my connection with my body. It built confidence in me, trust in my body and a thirst for more explorations of what my body could do for me.  Yoga, Pilates, Myofascial Release and breathwork have given me the gift of compassion, safety and creativity…for both myself and others. Being 500hr Vinyasa- Flow certified, having a 300hr Breathwork Facilitator Certificate, a mat Pilates Certificate from Body Harmonics and a 50hr MFR certificate has allowed me to share my passions with others

Now I'd be lying if I said my relationship with movement and breathwork was always consistent and always nourishing for my mind and body. Dandelion Movement was created from an exploration of healing my relationship with self and wanting to share that gift with others. Dandelion derives from the French word dents-de-lion, meaning lion's teeth; a representation of hope, strength, resilience and healing

Dandelions gently remind us that our spirits are capable of growing even in the harshest conditions and that when one journey comes to an end we plant our seeds for the next chapter to bloom from
